I'm Back...

It has been quite a while but I believe I am back in the blogging mood. I no longer work at the residential treatment facility for adolescents. I quit in August so I could go to grad school fulltime. I am doing the Masters of Social Work program which so far is not too bad. I think I actually missed school. And i think I missed praise from others for a job well done. You don't get those kinds of compliments being a housewife and mother. Actually I do get some compliments like that but I don't place as much worth on those. Kind of weird because if I had to pick something I was most proud of, it would be my daughter not my job or degrees. Funny how in our society we complain about the fall of family life but we place much less worht on those accomplishments, and focus on career.

Anyway, Ava is doing well. She talks so much more than before. She also lets me know when she has gone poo poo. Small wonders.

Steven is doing well too. He just got a promotion and is no longer a trainee. He is an official sanitation engineer. woo.

And, for the love of God, we finally have a date and reception venue for our wedding. September 23, 2006 baby!

The only yucky thing right now is mother-in-law issues. What else is knew? I have to say I am really proud of the way Steven has confronted his mother about some of her actions. This is a big step for him and I know I am the catalyst. It worries me because I don't want to be the reason they argue. Communication is good though. It will get worse before it gets better...and all that jazz. Good to be back.
